Complimentary Examination
Your initial consultation at our Lakewood office is free. Silva Orthodontics treats patients like family and it’s important to us that you have a great orthodontic experience. This first visit gives you the opportunity to meet Dr. Silva and his staff.
Dr. Silva will carefully examine your teeth for orthodontic anomalies and determine what orthodontic treatment is right for you. Once a treatment plan has been determined the doctor will talk you through a video animation on how the proposed treatment works and how long it will take. Dr. Silva’s team will provide you with estimated costs and payment options.
Records Appointment
The records appointment is the very first step in the patient s orthodontic treatment. This appointment lasts approximately 1 hour. An orthodontic diagnostic record is an evaluation and diagnostic tool that Dr. Silva uses to determine the patient’s orthodontic needs. Complete diagnostic records typically include a medical history review, a dental and orthodontic history review, clinical examination, dental impressions, or scan of your teeth, photographs of the patient’s face and teeth, a digital panoramic X-rays of all the teeth and a facial profile X-ray. Dr. Silva will analyze all the collected information and determine a comprehensive orthodontic treatment plan. You are on your way to a beautiful smile.
Regular Appointments
You will see the orthodontist every 4-8 weeks for adjustments to keep your smile on track. Appointments last 20-40 minutes. Regular orthodontic appointments are important to the progress of your treatment, so it’s important to keep your appointment! For your convenience we have flexible hours and late hours on certain days on the week.
Please arrive 10 minutes early for check in, brushing and oral hygiene instructions. Remember good oral hygiene is key to the success of a lasting healthy smile.
